!!!This feature is available starting from Origin 2026.

The Unix TimeStamp counts the number of seconds (or milliseconds) since January 1, 1970 00:00:00 UTC (Epoch time).

In the coming Origin 2026, XML files with Unix TimeStamps will be automatically recognized and converted into ISO 8601 date format during the data import.

A file with any of the following XML headers is recognized:

  1. timestamp
  2. Timestamp
  3. TimeStamp
  4. Unix_TimeStamp
  5. Unix_Timestamp
  6. Unix_timestamp
  7. ts
  8. unix_time
  9. unixtime

Extract the file, nine_example.xml, to explore this feature.  nine_examples

  • Drag and drop an XML file into a blank workbook or gray area in Origin workspace. Or choose Data ->  Connect to File ->XML from main menu

  • Navigate to the XML file location and double click the file to Open
  • Double click the root node (records in this case) or choose the root node and click on the down arrow
