Heatmap with Grouping in Origin 2025b

The Heatmap with Grouping is a new feature introduced in Origin 2025b that visually represents matrix or tabular data with added grouping distinctions. It features customizable gaps between groups of rows or columns, allowing for visual separation of categories or clusters. This layout helps to highlight patterns, and differences within and across grouped data sections, making it easier to compare clusters at a glance. With support for color mapping and optional annotations, it is an effective tool for exploring datasets with categorical organization.

You can access the following sample graph by navigating to Help : Learning Center and searching for Heatmap with Manual Group. In this example, the heatmap is segmented by rows and columns according to the group information stored in Col(B) and the Column Header Comments.

In the Plot Details dialog of the Heatmap chart, a new node Control of Gap between Cells (%) has been added. This allows you to insert gaps between cells based on a specified number of rows/columns or by referencing the grouping information stored in the worksheet.
