In Origin 2021b, we introduced ribbon and 100% ribbon chart graph types under menu Plot: Categorical. It is a stacked column chart with color filled between bars. In stacked column charts, values are shown in the same order in each stack, while in Ribbon charts bars in each stack are sorted. E.g. the ribbon chart below shows the quarterly market share change of several major companies from year 2018 to 2020. The graph not only shows the changes of share amount which standard stacked column chart can achieve, but also shows the changes of the rankings of companies. Compared to stacked column charts, ribbon charts are the winner in this storytelling scenario.

You can adjust the ribbon color, transparency and curvature under the Line tab of the plot level, in the Plot Details dialog.
You can change the sorting order under the Stack tab of the layer level, in the Plot Details dialog.
