Origin provides multiple graph types to visualize hierarchical data structures. These include the Sunburst Chart, the Circle Packing Chart and the Dendrogram. In Origin 2025b, a new addition to this family of hierarchical graphs, the Treemap, will be introduced. A Treemap is a visualization technique that represents hierarchical data using nested rectangles. Each branch of the hierarchy is represented by a rectangle, which is subdivided into smaller rectangles representing sub-branches or leaf nodes. The size of each rectangle is proportional to a specified quantitative value.
The following sample graphs can be accessed by going to the menu Help:Learning Center and search for Treemap.

Treemaps are highly efficient for visualizing large hierarchical datasets in a compact space. It also excels at revealing patterns, clusters, and outliers at a glance. This graph template in Origin 2025b is accessible in both Default GUI Mode and Statistics GUI Mode.
