Origin has introduced the Statistical Process Control app in recent versions to help users monitor and improve industrial processes. It includes various control chart options to track process performance over time. In Origin 2025, we added two graph templates to this suite: Multi-vari Chart and Variability Chart. Both templates can be found under the Plot: Statistical menu, alongside the Control Charts template.
Multi-vari Chart: This plot type is used to identify patterns and sources of variability in a process by visualizing how different factors impact the process outcome. It breaks down the overall variation into components such as within-group, between-group, or time-based variation. It is useful for visually understanding the interaction between different factors and the variability they introduce.
Variability Chart: This plot type is used to compare the variability between different factors by visualizing the spread (standard deviation) and central (mean) tendency of the data. It helps in determining whether the variability is consistent across groups or if certain groups exhibit more variation than others.
